EDWARD W. GOLDSTEIN, Partner

Edward GoldsteinFounding partner of the Houston, Texas based intellectual property law firm of Goldstein, Faucett & Prebeg. Mr. Goldstein has over 35 years of experience in patent infringement litigation and the protection of intellectual property rights. Mr. Goldstein has been the lead or co-counsel in hundreds of patent litigation lawsuits filed in federal courts from coast to coast. Mr. Goldstein is one of the 11 patent litigation lawyers of Goldstein, Faucett & Prebeg, whose practice focuses primarily on contingency fee patent litigation seeking the recovery of patent infringement damages for his clients. While focusing on plaintiffs' contingent fee litigation in the intellectual property area, Mr. Goldstein continues to represent major corporations in infringement litigation.

Education

  • Penn State University - 1963 - B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering
  • George Washington University - J.D. with honors - 1967, received the Order of the Coif Honor.

Experience

  • 1963 - Started in intellectual property law as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office,
  • Private practice - Washington, D.C. - 1965 to 1973
  • Arnold,White & Durkee - 1973 to 1995 - Houston, Texas
    • Became a partner and shareholder in 1976.
    • Principally involved in intellectual property litigation (from the plaintiff and defense standpoints) for such major corporations as Haliburton, Chevron, Monsanto, Teradyne and Allergan.
    • Senior litigator until he left at the end of 1994.
  • January 1995 - Ed initiated a law firm to be a vehicle and resource for individual inventors and small companies to protect and enforce their patent rights, when they otherwise did not have the financial resources to do so. This was accomplished starting with a variety of different payment opportunities, including contingent fees.

Memberships

  • A distinguished member of the Licensing Executive Society (USA-Canada) since 1975 and is a
